Is Twollow Dead?

Twollow

Popular Twitter tool, Twollow seems to have rolled over and died.

Twollow is a service that allows you to auto-follow Twitter users who tweet* keywords that you select in your account. This service can be very helpful for those monitoring brand awareness from a company Twitter account!

* Tweet, verb, The act of posting a message on Twitter.

I recently decided I wanted to try out this service to follow users who mention Drive A Faster Car or Social Media Club Atlanta. I visited their site, tried to sign up and nothing happened. It looked as if the page had just refreshed. I sent them an email to let them know about my issue and received this:

After a quick search on Twitter, I learned that many people have been having issues with Twollow and even replying to their Twitter account. They haven’t updated their Twitter account since the end of November (and ironically, aren’t following anyone). Apparently many bloggers seem oblivious to this as well. I couldn’t find any information on this! The mystery ensues. Please let me know if you learn anything!

  1. Hi,

Just a little word about twollow, I'm Dominic St-Pierre, I was the owner of twollow.com between November 24 and December 2 2008, I've implemented what you know today as twollow.com. I did not keep the application due to my limited knowledge of Twitter at that time and wanted someone who could bring it to the next level more quickly that I could do.

Unfortunately, the new owner never made any update and fixes to the application. I regret the sell and was disappointed about how the new owner was acting, I offer him to get it back to me in January 2009, but I never got any news since then.

I had put considerable work into twollow to take it from the original version to the actual during the week I own it, but still, the application was a work in progress. I continue trying to contact the current owner and hope to give better support to the users of twollow if I'm able to get it back.

    Hope it's help
